Rocky Mountain Rollergirls are a non-profit sports organization that depends on the work of volunteers and is funded by their members and the profits from their bouts. It's therefore very important to raise awareness and create connections within the community.
The Denver Art Museum has a monthly event in the summer called Untitled which presented the perfect opportunity for Rocky Mountain Rollergirls to raise awareness with their target audience. The theme for July was named "Anonymous" which the rollergirls felt worked perfectly since many skaters to choose to play under pseudonyms. We even went a step further and created special skater names that were based off of Artists, such as Frida Kahlobber and Raph I. Hell.
Working with their event coordinator, we came up promotional plan on facebook dropping hints to both of our "fans" that there would be a special exhibition during Untitled.

On the night of the event attendees were given programs that had 7:30 marked as "a surprise in the plaza" and there were announcement made over the sound system to the same effect.
At 7:30 the rollergirls skated out into the Atrium and chanted "Rocky Mountain" as they made their way outside to the Plaza. Many people came outside to watch and some watched from the second level outlook while they played. For those unfamiliar with roller derby we had an announcer to discuss the rules and action on the track as well as invite them to upcoming games.
The event was a success. Rocky Mountain Rollergirls provided special entertainment for the Denver Art Museum's event and were able to introduce themselves (and roller derby) to their target audience.
